The heat exchange structure can be a three-pass wet-back, coiled, or flue + water pipe composite type to achieve a thermal efficiency of 87%–93% (up to 102% LHV for condensing boilers). Design priorities include pressure boundary stability, thermal inertia control, low NOx emissions (NOx ≤ 30 mg/Nm³), water corrosion prevention, and system circulation balance. It is mainly used in district heating stations, hospital energy centers, campus/commercial building heating, and industrial process hot water applications in food processing, textiles, and chemicals. It is the core thermal unit connecting the heat source and load sides. Large hospital heating stations typically have 2–4 units in parallel; district heating stations commonly operate with 3–6 units in parallel.
